Lot 1253

1922 Grant Half Dollar, with star. PCGS graded MS-66 PQ. A splendid example of this desirable and much sought after United States silver commemorative issue. Lovely rainbow toning encircles Grant's portrait. Diagnostic die polish lines seen in the obverse fields accompanied by the clashmarks left of G and by the bowtie that Swiatek & Breen documented as prerequisites for authenticating With Star issues.Obverse identified by a short and thin scratch above the D of DOLLAR. Rainbow toning exists on the reverse as well but is contained close to the borders. The cabin is completely mark free and bold. Several light clashmarks are present in E.PLURI.BUS. Significantly rare in this grade where PCGS has graded a mere 28 coins with only 3 MS67's as finest (PCGS # 9307) .
Estimated Value $10,000 - 15,000.

Realized $11,500
