Lot 1250

1936 Gettysburg Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-67. Without a doubt this Gettysburg half dollar commemorative will be remembered as one of the finest known! Intense cartwheel luster over mostly silver surfaces that have perfectly concaved central poritons. Occassional splashes of iridescent toning on both obverse and reverse. Boldy struck and mark free! Housed in an old NGC holder, serial # 167750-010.

This spectacular Gettysburg is accompanied by the original Pennsylvania State Commission packing sent on June 9, 1937 to Mr. Edward C. Denny. While the envelope grades "About Uncirculated" in appearance, the letter of transmittal is "superb gem" quality. The three coin plain holder is a rare item and it also is in a pristine "superb gem" condition.

Whether for the die-hard silver commemorative collector or maybe the Civil War enthusiast, this offering is extremely significant and many years will pass before this piece and the associated memorabilia ever becomes available again.
Estimated Value $3,000 - 5,000.
