Aegina, c. 457-431 BC. AR Stater (12.24 g). Top view of land tortoise, with segmented shell. Reverse: Refined skew pattern incuse. SNG Delepierre 1545; cf. Dewing 1690. Sharp, choice strike on elongated flan, just lacking the rear feet and tail. Choice metal, with considerable mint luster visible. Superb old toning, with lighter iridescent colors in the recesses. Nearly Extremely Fine.
