Lucania. Metapontum, 325-280 BC. AR Nomos (7.67 g). Head of Persephone right, with grains in hair. Reverse: Ear of barley, star at right; ethnic at left, ΛY below. Johnston Class C, 8.8. Occasional scattered scratches due to cleaning; usual weakness at hair. Pleasing old deep toning, with steely blue overtones. Choice Very Fine.
