Arabia, the Sabaeans. Circa 3rd century BC. AR Drachm (4.58g). Helmeted head right of Athena; on cheek, "N". Reverse: Owl standing right, head facing. SNG-ANS (Part 6) 1455-1456 (as Sabaean issue from South Arabia Felix). About Extremely Fine.
While Athenian coins were often imitated in the Persian Period from such cities as Gaza and Ascalon, the above coin is securely attributed to the Sabaeans.
