1907 $20 St. Gaudens. NGC graded MS-64. Popular, first year of issue. This was the Mint's third and final version of Saint-Gaudens' impressive new design. The first attempt was the Ultra-High Relief, which required numerous blows from a medal press, the second was the High Relief, which was produced in a relatively small quantity mainly to mollify then-President Theodore Roosevelt, and the third was the low relief version offered here. Another major difference between the first two and the third was the date -- on the former it was in Roman numerals, on the final version the date appears in Arabic numerals.
