1907 $10 Liberty. NGC graded Proof 65. A glittering Proof example of the last year of the Liberty Head type. Boldly struck from highly polished dies -- in fact, the reverse die was polished so heavily that some of the vertical lines in the shield have begun to thin out and the right tip of the scroll has been partially effaced. The obverse has traces of cameo contrast, the reverse more so, but this date rarely comes with the deep cameo finishes seen on earlier dates. This is a truly outstanding example, one of only 5 graded this nice by NGC. In fact, the only finer example of which we are aware is a lone PCGS Proof-66 Cameo, but that piece would bring considerably more than the estimate range we've placed on this beauty. In this case, you can purchase a coin that is nearly as nice at a far more attractive price. One of only 74 Proofs struck in this year.
