U. S. Coin Glass: Rare Syrup Jug. Central Glass Co., of Wheeling, W. Virginia, c. 1892. The jug basically a single-handled small-mouth jar, with pewter cap having interior spout and hinged lid (lid's thumbrest missing). Lower half of jug with fluted and ribbed panels displaying the fronts and reverses of 6 Seated Liberty quarters dated to 1892, sharply molded and frosted. Along with this, a pair and salt and pepper shakers of the same form and ornament as seen in the other lots, these with 4 quarters each, 1892 and frosted. Their brass caps retaining some of its nickel finish. Lastly, a toothpick holder, identical to the Columbian Exposition example seen in another lot, but this one with 4 "Morgan"-style dollars, each retaining its silvered tone. Jug and shakers show some wear, but no significant chips. The holder is pristine. Jug, Height: 7". Shakers, Height: 3-1/8". Lot of 4 items.
