1756, A Map of the World on Mercators Projection. An 8 x 12 inch map from Gentleman's Magazine (London) naming New England, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Part of central Africa is "Negroland" and the south of Africa is "Hottentots." The south of South America is "Magelane," Australia is "New Holland," and there are many other interesting early names. Light toning and two vertical folds.
