Remington, Frederic (1861-1909) American painter, illustrator and sculptor. Autograph Letter Signed in full, no place, May 29, no year, 1 page, 8½ x 6½ in. To Ralph, asking for the names of the current senators from Texas: "Who are the present senators from the state of Texas? Write immediately. Harry Harper isn't so sure you are going to Mexico as you are." Written on laid paper with a watermark in the form of an order or badge with a Scottish thistle emblem and Latin motto. One pinhole at fold and minor blemishes. Remington, who was born in New York, worked as a cowboy in the western U.S. He was an artist and correspondent in Cuba during the Spanish American War (1898). He was known as an animal painter and illustrator of scenes from the American West.
