Long, Huey P. Five items pertaining to Huey Long: (1) Document Signed as Governor of Louisiana, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, September 25, 1928, 1 pg. folio. Being a "Five Per Cent Certificate of Indebtedness of the State of Louisiana for Confederate Veterans and their Widows,"promising to pay $5,000 to the bearer on February 15, 1929. Cream-colored document with an attractice burnt-orange decorative border; light soiling, else Fine. (2) U.S. Senate Memorandum sheet Signed, "Sincerely, Huey P. Long / U.S. Senate," 5¼ x 4 in.; one pinhole and paper remnant on verso. (3&4) Two letters with stamped signatures, on U.S. Senate letterhead, addressed to "Dear Friend," as part of a large mailing Long made soliciting members for his Share Our Wealth Society. (5) A book, Acceptance of the Statue of Huey P. Long / Presednted by the State of Louisiana, signed and inscribed by Huey Long' son, Russell Long, to a friend of his father's; there are several "Discard" stamps on end pages; Very Good.
