A collection of ten cabinet members: (1) Edward Livingston(Sec. of State for Jackson), Manuscript Document Signed as mayor of New York City, Oct. 5, 1801, ordering the payment of $560.60 for sperm oil for the Common Council, 3¾ x 7¾ (2) Levi Woodbury (Sec. of Navy and Treas. for Jackson), boldly penned signature on a 1 x 3 in. piece of paper (3) Reverdy Johnson (Atty. Gen. for Taylor), Signature on album page, 2½ x 55 in. (4) S.P. Chase (Sec. of Treas. for Lincoln), Signature on 5/8 x 3¾ in. piece of paper (5) William H. Seward (Sec. of State for Lincoln), free frank cut and affixed to a 2¾ x 4 in. autograph card (6&7) George S. Boutwell (Sec. of Treas. for Grant), 1851 ALS accepting a speaking engagement, 7 x 4½ in., and an 1894 ALS giving an autograph, 6¼ x 4 in. (8) William M. Evarts (Atty. Gen. for A. Johnson, Sec. of State for Hayes), 1878 Endorsement Signed as Sec. of State, 8 x 3½ in. (9) James G. Blaine (Sec. of State for Garfield), 1886 TLS thanking a Philadelphia editor for a newspaper, 9¾ x 8 in.; and (10) G. William Miller (Sec. of Treas. for Carter), 1978 TLS regretting that he cannot make a speaking engagement, 10½ x 8 in. Conditions range from Very Good to Very Fine. (10 items).
