Published by Charles Scribner's Sons, New York, 1928, "Under the Auspices of the American Council of Learned Societes." Deep red buchram covers with gold lettering. Covers are rubbed and interiors are toned, but otherwise clean and complete. A few letters written by people whose biographies are in the dictionary are laid loosely into the pages. An important reference work.
