Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III, the Great, 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.44 g), Aspendos, struck 190/189 BC. Dated posthumous coinage. Head of Herakles right, with lion's skin headdress. Reverse: Zeus enthroned left; AΣ at left, date below, KB (year 22); at right, counterstamp with head of Helios facing. Cf. SNG Cop. Suppl. 183 (for type), and no. 181 for counterstamp (Phasalis mint). Lightly toned and interesting. Fine, Counterstamp Extremely Fine. Estimated Value $250 - 350
