1893. PCGS graded Proof 66 Deep Cameo. A delightful, yellow-green-gold example of this date in the most desirable of all formats - Deep Cameo. Tied with 2 others at PCGS for "Finest Deep Cameo" honors (the population was once up to 4 pieces, a number apparently inflated by at least one resubmission). Only 106 Proof Quarter Eagles were squeezed out in 1893, at which time the quality of the coins being produced was outstanding. This is one of the best survivors and it is a truly remarkable coin.
