1907. NGC graded MS-68. An incredibly frosty example, with drifts of snowy luster creating a winterland of crystalline white color on both sides. Considering how this coin was made, it is a miracle it has survived in such an extraordinary condition. Unlike Proof coins, these were made for circulation using a "quantity, not quality" method. As soon as the coins were struck, they fell into a bag or hopper, clanging neighbor against neighbor, imparting dings and milling marks to each other. Even having avoided these tribulations, this coin started out special, as one rarely sees Mint State Barber Quarters with the depth of luster seen here. It is truly a breath-taking coin and the finest example yet available of this date. NGC has graded only this coin in MS-68 -- PCGS has graded none. Neither service has graded anything finer. Estimated Value $6,000 - 9,000

Realized $6,613
