1787 Fugio Cent. Pointed rays, 4 cinquefoils, "STATES UNITED". Newman 8-X. PCGS graded MS-63 Brown. Medium, chocolate brown in color, with nice surfaces and no planchet voids on either side. The obverse die is cracked at the bottom and shows sinking on the left side that obliterates the Y of YOUR and the IN of business. This variety was found in the Bank of New York hoard, which originally started out as a keg of approximately 5,000 mint red Fugios -- by 1948, the hoard had dwindled to only 1,641 pieces, which were examined and attributed by the American Numismatic Society. This was the fourth most common variety in the hoard, represented by 189 pieces (PCGS # 883) Estimated Value $2,500 - 3,000
