Egypt. Ptolemaic Kings. Ptolemy II, 285-246 BC. Gold Tetradrachm (13.8 g). Struck after 265 BC. Conjoined busts of Ptolemy II and Arsinoe II right: Ptolemy draped and diademed, Arsinoe draped and veiled, Gallic shield behind heads; AΔEΛΦΩN above. Reverse: Conjoined busts of Ptolemy I and Berenike I right: Ptolemy draped and diademed, Berenike draped and veiled; above, ΘEON. Svoronos 604; SNG cop. 133. Scattered marks in fields of both sides; and what appear to be two ancient scrapes along edge. With remaining luster. Choice Very Fine.
