Bar Kochba Revolt, 132-135 AD. AE Middle Bronze (25 mm.), Year 2, struck 133/134 AD. . Hen-708. Scarce with the undertype showing. Palm tree of seven branches, with two date clusters below; Hebrew inscription across field ("Sma"). Reverse: Vine leaf with branch; Hebrew inscription around ("Year two of the freedom of Israel"). Hendin 708; Mild. 78. Interesting in that the uneven strike allows the undertype to show through, perhaps one of the Flavian emperors. Deep green patina, with lighter earthen residues.
