1923-D $20 St. Gaudens. NGC graded MS-66. Lovely, rich gold toning, with sunny orange colors glittering at the peripheries. Well struck and choice. This used to be a slightly scarcer date in Mint State grades, but significant quantities of the date were found in European vaults over the past two decades. Nevertheless, few of those coins possess the exquisite eye appeal and well-preserved surfaces of this piece.
