Nicholas II. The Russo-Japanese War was very unpopular, and when it ended by Japan defeating Russia, it resulted in damaging Russian military losses and domestic political unrest which resulted in the Revolution of 1905 and foreshadowed the Revolution of 1917. Later that same year, Nicholas promised democratic reforms, but they were ultimately not enough to save him or his regime. Last Czar of Russia (rulled 1894-1917), executed with his family by the Bolsheviks.

Document Signed as Czar, in Russian, Three pages, Folio, April 9, 1905. This document, which dates from the 2nd year of the Russo-Japanese War, bears the ornately printed heading 'IMPERIAL DECREE TO THE CHAPTER OF RUSSIAN IMPERIAL AND ROYAL ORDERS" .

The document bestowes of the title of "Cavalier of Our Imperial and Royal Orders" upon various men from veterinary school, factory and gymnasium sectors, including orders of Saint Stanislav first, second and third class, etc.
