Typed Letter Signed As President. One page, small quarto, on White House letterhead. Washington DC, August 28, 1934. FDR writes in his first term to Mr. Adrian B. Herzog and makes a prophetic statement "humanity as a whole understands the bigger purpose" In full:
"Dear Mr, Herzog: - I have your letter of August twenty-fourth. I think that humanity as a whole understands the bigger purposes we are seeking to attain for it. I appreciate your writing to me. Very sincerely yours. Franklin D. Roosevelt."
