Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 2

Lot 1589

1854-D. AU-55. Boldly struck throughout, with full devices and none of the usual weakness. There are some faint obverse scratches, and a couple on the reverse. A rare date, with only 2,935 run off in all, most of which were lost. Lustrous fields and one that most collectors can appreciate. The obverse die is sharply clashed with the reverse. Struck from a rotated reverse die, approximately 180 degrees.

Realized $6,613
