1923-D. PCGS graded MS-66. Peace dollars--who needs them? Common as chick peas, aren't they? They sure are, in just BU. But in Superb Gem BU, what are they? Rarities, that's what they are. Here's the perfect example of this mystifying quality--a true Gem, an MS66 that gleams and shimmers and fascinates. This example is extra-special as well, for a dramatic diebreak encircles the obverse: perhaps the dies came together with such a clang that they shattered, striking this very coin.
