Lovely MS-64 Prooflike 1889-CC Dollar. NGC graded MS-64 Prooflike. One of the classic rarities in the Morgan Dollar series. As a date, the Prooflike or Deep Prooflike coins are a bit scarcer than the regular Mint State issues. Fully struck and very well preserved, this near gem has deep watery fields and frosted devices. As with all Prooflike coinage, the fields are very delicate, and any time spent sliding around in a bag quickly reduces the grade out of the choice category. Here is a pleasant, and delightful, exception. The fields and devices show very few contact marks, and the coin is handsomely preserved. A rarity in this grade, and nearly impossible to find better.
