NGC graded Proof 66 1879 Trade Dollar. NGC graded Proof 66. Smoky dark gray toning with hints of deep blues on both sides spreads over the fields and devices. Sharply impressed by the dies; with a total mintage of 1,541 there simply aren't enough to go around to the date collectors who need this year. Gem coins such as this are decidedly rare, and very few can ever hope to attain the grade status of this piece.
