Scarce Blue Louwelsa Vase. Height: 8". A blackberry bush, ripe with both fruit and blossoms, is depicted in the line's characteristic blue tones. With the Louwelsa Weller circle seal, along with the number 392 and the letter X impressed to the base. Perhaps an original potting flaw which has only gradually become apparent, there is a crack to the base which extends into the body in two place, measuring 2 and 4-½" in length, but virtually disappearing into the cracquelure finish of the glazed surface. In good condition.
