Louwelsa Vase with American Indian Portrait. Height: 13". This simple vase bears the portrait of a Native American man, his hair ornamented with two feathers and neck ringed with animal teeth. The artist's monogram in the glaze opposite the design appears to be the LJB of Levi J. Burgess. The Louwelsa Weller circle seal is impressed to the base, along with the numbers 4 and 96, and the letter X. With some minor surface scratches and a few imperfections in the glaze, the overall appearance is still fine.
Estimated Value $800 - 1,000.

Realized $2,415
