Louwelsa Vase. Height: 6". Gold and bronze roses with green leaves and thorned stems ornament the shoulder of this rounded vessel. Artist Madge Hurst has left her monogram, MH, in the glaze to the right of the design. The Louwelsa Weller half-circle seal is impressed to the base, along with the numbers 4, 7, and 538, and the letter X (double stamped). With only a single, minor chip (1/8") to the glaze along the rim, this piece is fine.
