Comprising the Following Maps or Plates… "New Edition" New York: Huntington and Savage, 1835. 16¼ x 14". 7 hand-colored engraved celestial maps with two-page black and white engraving opening the book illustrating "A Plan of the Solar System Exhibing its Relative Magnitudes and Distances". Original letterpress wrappers with bumped corners; minor dampstaining and surface soil to both covers; covers and pages loose at bottom 2" of binding; the maps show minor foxing, surface soil and scattered browning, the map of the Southern Hemisphere has a stain that has leached onto the map of the Northern Hemisphere. Fair to Good condition.
