Hagenbeck - Wallace Wild Animal Circus. [1932], 42 x 27 in. Litho in USA, Erie Litho & Ptg Co. Erie, PA. Featuring the lions, tigers, and other big cats used by "the World's Most Daring Trainer - Capt. Clyde Beatty." With date tag for Chattanooga. Condition: Professionally restored to A-. Richly colored. Exceptional eye appeal.

In 1866, in Hamburg, Germany, Carl Hagenbeck had begun to supply exotic animals to circuses, zoos, and menageries all over the world. In 1904, he opened the Carl Hagenbeck Wild Animal Show, but American circuses did not like having competition from their animal supplier, and in 1906, Hagenbeck was forced to sell the show to Ben Wallace. Hagenbeck - Wallace was sold to Ringling Bros., Barnum & Bailey in 1937.
