Lot 1224

Columbian World's Fair, Chicago, 1892-1893. Three More Ribbons, One on Original Paper Backing. On white ground, in black, a detailed view of the Administration Building. This made by W.H. Grant of Coventry, England. The second ribbon, still attached to its paper backing (with antique short pin), has another version of Columbus' landing. The third ribbon with view of the imposing Hall of Machinery and a locomotive below. The first two ribbons nicely preserved. The last improperly washed, causing the red coloring to run. Ribbon Lengths: 6-1/4", 7", 7-1/4". Lot of 3. Cf. Rossen & Kaduck, p. 62, nos. 4 and 6, and p. 58, no. 5, for last (done by Thomas Stevens of London, made at the Fair).
