Lot 1206

Collector's Spoons. The Last of the Collection. Lot of teaspoon and demitasse-sized pieces, plus other attractive miscellaneous pieces. Most in sterling silver, with all but three having gilt bowls. Six of the spoons feature "bright-cut" engraved inscriptions or buildings on the bowl, several with elaborate handles. One, engraved "Mound, N.D.," with fabulous cowboy roping a steer handle; another with Indian in war bonnet, kneeling on globe ("Rhame, N.D." on bowl); a small spoon with view of the club building of the Wanbanakee Golf Club, Burlington, Vermont; two quality Norwegian pieces: a pickle fork, gilt, with violet enameled handle, and a salt(?) spoon, gilt, with green enameled handle with thistle finial, plus the newest spoon -- from Disneyland; and more. More than half of the spoons seem to be turn of the century or a little later, with two or three newer. They show slight to moderate use, a couple more so. Along with these a protective flannel spoon "apron" from the 20's or 30's, embroidered in dark pink, "SPOONS." Lot of 13 items. A lot well worth looking at.

Estimated Value $200 - 300.
