Lot 1205

Collector's Spoons. A Fine Collection of Boat and Maritime Spoons. The best of the batch! Lot of teaspoon and demitasse-sized pieces. Most in 800 silver, with half being gilt, most with enameling to handles, and all having enameled designs to the bowls. The designs seem to be either transfer prints or hand painting, or a mixture of both. Included are: an old time view of New York City's busy waters, the S.S. Empress of India moored in Vancouver, what looks like a side-wheeler before the Konstanz Insel-Hotel, plus another similar view but showing the snow-capped peaks behind Konstanz, along with port or marina scenes at Cologne, Curaçao, Hamburg and more. More than half of the spoons seem to be turn of the century to pre-WWII, with perhaps two newer. They show slight to moderate use. Lot of 10. This assortment should please the specialist collector.

Estimated Value $200 - 300.
