Lot 1201

Collector's Spoons. A Group of Sixteen Different Spoons, with Various European Views. Lot of teaspoon and demitasse-sized pieces. Most in 800 silver, with many being gilt, some with enameling to handles, and all having enameled designs to the bowls. The designs seem to be either transfer prints or hand painting, or a mixture of both. The bowls portray scenic Alpine or Tyrolean views, quaint medieval cities and bridges along rivers, impressive architecture and more. Locales include: Chambord, Wurzburg, Zurich, Seville, Lucerne, Leipzig, Heidelberg, one the looks like India, and others. Spoons seem to be mostly pre-WWII, with a few around mid-century, or a bit later, and perhaps one or two much earlier. They show slight to moderate use. A European itinerary that can be held in one hand! Lot of 16.

Estimated Value $200 - 300.
