British Africa collection, 1853-1961. An outstanding lot for the retail dealer with literally hundreds of better sets and singles in the $50 and up range. Close inspection will prove rewarding. Extraordinarily extensive, mostly mint collection hinged in 2 Scott albums. The late Victorian through 4 Kings issues are approximately 80% complete. Noteworthy are: Ascension complete mint through 1956; Basutoland complete throught 1961; British Bechuanaland with extensive Queen Victoria plus complete issues 1914-1961 including the Seahorses; good British Central Africa and British East Africa with issues to the £1; Cape of Good Hope including some Triangulars; East Africa & Uganda with issues to the 5r; Gambia missing apparently only 5 stamps for completion through 1953; extensive Gold Coast (complete 1928-1953); British Middle East Agencies and Offices in Morocco both apparently complete (a few values used); good Kenya, Uganda & Tanganyika including the 1922 set complete; Lagos 80-90% complete; Mauritius from 1849 (complete 1926-1961);good selections of Natal, Niger Coast Protectorate, Nigeria and Northern Nigeria including better £1 values; Nyasaland complete less only 3 rarities; good Orange River Colony; Rhodesia about 80% complete including most of the Admirals and Double Heads; St. Helena is missing only 5 stamps for completion 1871-1961 (a few are used); Seychelles complete 1890-1962 (3 stamps are used); Sierra Leone over 80% complete 1860-1956 including several £1 values; Somaliland Protectorate and Southern Rhodesia both over 90% complete;good South West Africa with about 75% completion on the key overprint pairs; good South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland and Togo; Zanzibar and Zululand both over 75% complete.
