Above these, and spaced out evenly at eight intervals are floral cartouches with rose and pansy sprays. Base of dish marked with Towle insignia, "Sterling," and the number, 3822. Opposite is pattern and patent information, and lightly inscribed, "S12-283." The lid for the dish is in openwork, engraved with floral and geometric designs, with sterling plated knob shaped as a floral bouquet. Lid stamped "Nickel Alloy, FF6," and also lightly inscribed, "S12-283." Dish show moderate but careful wear, with delicate toning. Diameter: 13-1/2". Weight of Dish: over 28 oz. An elegant reminder of dining styles past.
