Lot 2208

1915-S Panama-Pacific $2.50. PCGS graded MS-66. As near to perfection as one could reasonably hope for, this coin exudes copious luster and pristine surfaces. Rich orange gold in color, and with loads of visual appeal. Well struck by the dies, but we note the head of Liberty shows slight weakness as typically seen. Mintage came in at a low 6,750, with few preserved in such superb condition. PCGS has graded 272 this high, with 14 graded higher, all MS-67. Close examination will note virtually no signs of handling and just a trace of haze (PCGS # 7450) .
Estimated Value $5,000 - 6,000.
From the Benson collection and purchased from Ira S. Reed on February 26, 1944 for $20.

Realized $6,613
