Pulcheria, sister of Theodosius II, & wife of Marcian. Gold Semissis (2.19 g), Constantinople, struck c. 420-422 AD. Rare, yet affordable. Diademed and draped bust of Pulcheria right. Reverse: Chrysmon, Chi-Rho, within beaded Imperial wreath. RIC 224. Sharp, attractive portrait. Lamination crack at ear; some burnishing to Chi. Choice Very Fine.
