Claudius, 41-54 AD. AE Sestertius, Rome, struck 42 AD. Laureate head of Claudius right. Reverse: Inscription in four lines: EX S C / P P / OB CIVES / SERVATOS, all within wreath of oak leaves. RIC 112; BMCRE 185. Attractive portrait, with pleasing dusky green and brown patina. Some smoothing, with touches of tooling, mostly in hair and leaves. Nevertheless, large and impressive looking. Nearly Extremely Fine / Very Fine.
