Ancient Greece. Lot of Seventeen Bronze Coins, c. 300-50 BC. Fine beginner or Internet vendor material. Starting with, Sicily, Syracuse, Agathokles ruler, AE 19: Female head left, grain in hair / Butting bull left (BMC 369). Pamphylia, Side, c. 200-100 BC., AE 16: Helmeted Athena head right / Nike left (SGC 5440). Two from Psidia, Selge, c. 200-100 BC., AE 14: Bearded Herakles bust right / Bow & thunderbolt (von Aulock 5288); and, Termessos Major, AE 17: Zeus head right / Horse forepart left (cf. von Aulock 5337). Mysia, Pergamum, quasi-autonomous AE 16: Youthful head / female head (SGC 4911). Plus five small AE's from Caria: Alabanda, after 163 BC., AE 11: Apollo head / Pegasus right; Kaunos, c. 330-305 BC., AE 12: Butting bull right / Seated sphinx right (BMC 7); Knidus, c. 300-140 BC., AE 17: Tyche head left / Lion forepart left (SNG Cop. 316); Knidus, c. 300-190 BC., AE 10: Apollo head / Prow (BMC 67); Rhodes, before 304 BC., AE 11: Female head right / Rose (BMC 82-84). Two from Cilicia, Adona, after 164 BC., AE 25: Veiled Demeter head right / Zeus enthroned left (BMC 1); and, Hieropolis-Castabala, after 164 BC., AE 22: Tyche head right / Artemis Perasia seated left (SNG Cop. 143). And finally, two from Phoenicia: Marathus, c. 187/6 BC., AE 15: Bust right of Berenice II / Prow left (BMC 15-18); Sidon, c. 127/6 BC., AE 19: Bust of Demetrios II right / Astarte on prow left (SNG Cop. 360). Coins with generally good surfaces, and various patinas, several attractive. Worth a look, as most are above average examples, with a number being choice. Lot of 17 coins. Coins average Very Fine and better.
