Macedonian Kingdom. Demetrios I Poliorketes, 294-288 BC. For those seeking a bargain example that's still impressive looking. AR Tetradrachm (16.43 g), Amphipolis mint, struck c. 290-289 BC. Diademed and horned head of Demetrios right. Reverse: Nude Poseidon standing left, resting foot on rock, holding trident; monograms to right and left. Newell 116. Reverse lightly double struck. Cleaning to portrait; scattered light smoothing throughout fields. Very Fine.
