Ancient Rome. Maximinus I, 235-238 AD. AR Denarius, struck 236-238 AD. Good dealer or collector's lot. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Maximinus right. Reverse: Providentia standing left, holding cornucopia and wand, globe at feet. RIC 20; C. 75. Choice sharp portait, reverse die worn. Also: Philip I, 244-249 AD, AR Antoninianus: Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust / Virtus seated left, holding branch; RIC 53. Lastly, Aurelian, 270-275 AD, silvered Antoninianus: Radiate and cuirassed bust / Sol frontal, captive at left; RIC 134. All toned, the silvering on the Aurelian dark. All with fine, sharply struck portraits. Lot of 3 coins. Coins average Nearly Extremely Fine.
