Imperatorial Rome. Julius Caesar, d. 44 BC. AR Denarius, African mint, 47-46 BC. Diademed head of Venus right. Reverse: Aeneas left, carrying Anchises and Palladium. Craw. 458/1; Syd. 1013. Ancient knock to edge of flan bending it a little; light banker's mark obverse right. Otherwise, sharp strike well centered on spacious flan, in attractive style. Old collection toning. Choice Very Fine.
