Republican Rome. M. Aemilius Scaurus & P. Plautius Hypsaeus, 58 BC. AR Denarius. King Aretas of Nabataea kneeling right, in supplication, beside camel. Reverse: Jupiter in quadriga left, brandishing thunderbolt, scorpion at left below. Aemilia 8. Craw. 422/1b. Obverse die somewhat worn; reverse crisp. Light banker's mark on each side. Attractive iridescent toning. Very Fine.
