Ancient Judea. Bar Kochba Revolt, 132-135 AD. AE Middle Bronze (25 mm), Year 2, struck 133/134 AD. . Hen-708. Interesting variety. Palm tree of seven branches, two date clusters below; Hebrew inscription acrow field (Shim'on). Reverse: Large vine leaf with branch; Hebrew inscription around ("Year two of the freedom of Israel"). Hendin 708; cf. Mild. 58, leaf side his O4, but palm tree side apparently unpublished. Obverse sharply struck, so too the reverse, but die somewhat worn as is typical. Dark brown and red patina, with slight chestnut highlights. Choice Very Fine.
