Phoenicia. Tyre, after 126 BC. AR Shekel-Tetradrachm (14.3 g), struck 107/106 BC. Laureate, skin-clad bust of Melkaart right. Reverse: Eagle standing left on prow, palm branch at shoulder, club and date in fields (year 20). BMC p. 238, 93; SNG Cop. 317. Well struck, with neat compact portrait. Lightly toned; some slight, easily cleanable calcerous deposits on obverse. Nearly Extremely Fine.
