Phoenicia. Tyre, after 126 BC. AR Shekel-Tetradrachm (13.8 g), struck 112/111 BC. Laureate, skin-clad bust of Melkaart right. Reverse: Eagle standing left on prow, palm branch at shoulder, club and date in fields (year 15). BMC p. 237, 81. Finely centered on nearly round flan. Light porosity throughout, the reverse rough, however the portrait remains fine and artistic. Extremely Fine / Very Fine.
