Phoenicia. Tyre, 336-306 BC. AR Didrachm (8.7 g), struck 297/296 BC. Melkaart riding hippocamp right; beneath, double line of waves, and dolphin below. Reverse: Owl standing right, head facing, holding Egyptian flail and crook; date (year 35) in right field. BMC p. 232, 40. Well centered on usual tight flan. Obverse a little weakly struck from worn die, but reverse crisp. Choice Very Fine.
