Phoenicia. Tyre, c. 450-400 BC. AR Half-Shekel (3.2 g). Attractive and choice! Rare this nice. Dolphin right, above double line of waves, murex shell below; Phoenician inscription above. Reverse: Owl standing right, head facing, holding Egyptian flail and crook, all bordered by incuse outline, the whole within incuse square. BMC --; SNG Cop.--; Forrer/Weber 8082. Boldly struck devices, on good metal. The obverse a bit off center. Lightly toned. About Extremely Fine.
